Space Checklist

Here is a list of the things that need to happen to go from where we are now to rocking out in our new space.

Before Move in ToDo list

  • Identify a space
  • create spreadsheet showing financial feasibility
  • DPRG board signs off on it
  • DMS signs off on it
  • Transfer required funds from paypal money market to bank checking account
  • Get general liability insurance for the space
  • get check for first month's rent and deposit (another month's rent)
  • fill out lease; get it signed
  • turn in lease, check, and proof of insurance to building people
  • get CO from City of Dallas
  • pass City of Dallas inspection
  • rock out in our new space

After Move in ToDo list

  • Electricity from a 100% renewable source
  • Move DPRG furniture
  • Move DPRG tools and equipment to warehouse
  • Internet connectivity (ideally from a public AP friendly ISP)
    • device. (mmetzger provided a CLEAR modem)
    • power supply. (2A power supply provided by ahatchett)
    • gateway server. (done)
    • purchase account. I bought a month of inet access (20100818, PeterS)
    • setup dyndns. (done-- http://dallasmakerspace.dyndns.org)
  • refrigerator (I've got a small one we can use initially)
  • Check air filter size and replace (probably need carbon filter)
  • Clean (wall, ceiling, floors, windows)
  • repair/replace outlet and switch plates
  • Tape and bed walls in warehouse
  • paint warehouse floor if desired
  • paint warehouse walls if desired (mural was suggested)
  • Security access system (electronic with key override)
  • Move DPRG Noise Boundary equipment to warehouse
  • shelves
  • insurance for contents?
  • liability waiver form for anyone who uses tools
  • Darkroom
    • finish out walls/ceiling
    • paint
    • lighting
    • exterior in-use indicator
  • Welding station
    • need 50 amp 220v circuit added in warehouse
    • 2A-20BC rated fire extinguishers for hot work area
    • Dallas Fire-Rescue Dept Hot Work Permit (for welding)
